I made this cocktail for my friend Kathy last summer. Since this particular friend does not have the same love for a West Michigan Winter that I do, I decided to post this drink this week --to help save her from Winter. I like diffusing essential oils at home and have loved the challenge of finding new and interesting ways to use oils. Let me know what you think!

Serves 20 (in a 10 oz. rocks glass filled halfway with ice)
3 cups water1 cup sugar4 drops jasmine essential oil1 cup fresh lime juice3 cups orange vodka3 cups Grand Marnier6 cups chilled club sodaLemon wedges
First, make a Simple Syrup: In a saucepan, combine sugar and water and stir for about two minutes on medium heat until well dissolved. Drop jasmine onto a small spoon to measure -- be careful it’s hard to count (I usually have to throw some away before I get it right.) Once measured, gently stir in the jasmine essential oil and lime juice into the syrup. Cool slightly.
Second, in your gallon jug, combine vodka with the Grand Marnier and jasmine syrup from the saucepan. Top with 6 cups club soda and stir gently so that bubbles don’t overflow.
Finally, throw some lemon wedges in for that bitter zesty flavor. Serve over ice.
