I love it when friends who love cocktails share recipes with me. This is from my friends Joe and Tiffany, who spied the peanut buttery booze at a local bar and helped the friendly bartender make up a cocktail on the spot.
PB&J Old Fashioned
Serves 4 (in 10-ounce rocks glasses, filled halfway with ice)
Β½ cup sugar
Β½ cup water
2 cups peanut butter whiskey (Lark Loves Skrewball)
1 cup rye whiskey
2 tablespoons aromatic bitters (Lark Loves Scrappyβs and Fee Brothers)
12 cherries (Lark Loves Luxardo)
12 orange twists
Make the simple syrup:
Combine sugar and water in a small saucepan; bring to a boil.
Reduce heat, simmer for 4 minutes, or until sugar is dissolved.
Remove from heat and chill.
Make the cocktail:
Combine ΒΎ cup simple syrup, peanut butter whiskey, rye whiskey, and bitters in a small pitcher.
Pour into rocks glasses filled with ice and top with a cherry, 2 more drops of bitters, and orange twist. Stir well and serve.
