Artichoke Bubbly

This new recipe for a batch drink merges the Italian love for the SPRITZ (prosecco and a bitter liqueur, usually Aperol or Campari) with my desire to make that summer drink more applicable to the snowy season. I’m not sure artichokes are very fresh in the winter, but the 13 herbs and plants in Cynar will make you think of pine, lemon, and all the good winter feels. There isn’t much of an artichoke taste here, in case you were wondering! It’s just GOOD. YOU MUST TRY IT!

 Artichoke Bubbly
Serves 20 (in 10-ounce rocks glasses, filled halfway with ice)

2 cups mineral water (my new obsession is the super bubbly Topo Chico!)
4 ΒΌ cups Cynar (1-liter bottle)
10 cups prosecco (about three 750 mL bottles)
2 lemons, cut in half lengthwise and sliced thin

Combine in order listed right before serving! Serve with ice on the side and garnish with slices of lemon if you have them on hand!
