This cocktail was inspired by Everyday People Cafe, where I have spent many hours Living on a Lark! We have been nearly snowed in, attended glittery New Year’s Eve parties, eaten bowls and bowls of steaming risotto, and taught our kids how to eat mussels at this sweet local restaurant. French Pear
Serves 20 (in a rocks glass filled with ice)
5 cups pear vodka (I like Miru or Absolut)
9 cups (about three bottles) dry sparkling wine
1 ½ cups Thatcher’s Organic Elderflower Liqueur or other elderflower liqueur
Aromatic bitters (by the drop, on the side)
Combine vodka and elderflower liqueur in a gallon jug.
Immediately before serving, add the sparkling wine and transfer the mixture to a serving container.
Serve over ice with bitters nearby—add about 4 drops per glass (more or less based on preference, but I like 4!).
